Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is a model and actor. After making her film debut by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to portray the anti-Nazi archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan as Charlotte in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody started modeling after being invited by an experienced photographer. This led to a successful modeling career in the commercial world. Doody was adamantly against glamour and nude work a clause which was extended to her acting career. When she came to the director's attention in the role in a James Bond film, Doody accepted a minor role for a small part in A View to a Kill (1985). Doody's name was featured in John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 of the most promising young actors in 1986. 38. Doody had just turned age 18 when she was given the character as a Bond girl. She is still the youngest Bond girl to date. Another film from her early days played a tiny part in the film in a small role as IRA Siobhan Doovan, a member of the IRA in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she was a film starring Mickey Rourke. Doody played a non-speaking part in the 1987 adaptation of The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in a dream. In a Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, Doody played Sapsorrow with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She first appeared in the film Taffin alongside Pierce Brosnan. Next, she played the role of Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian archaeologist and Nazi-sympathizer opposite Harrison Ford. Doody has worked with three James Bond actors. In the year 1991, Doody co-starred opposite Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the published fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. She then moved to Hollywood. She was replaced by Cybill Shepherd in the L'Oreal spokesperson's part. Then she played Flannery Sheen's lover and agent, opposite Charlie Sheen, as Major League II came out in 1994. Doody came back to acting in 2003, playing a small part on her role in the British comedy film The Actors, in which Michael Caine played herself at the awards ceremony. She played alongside Patrick Swayze in a 2004 television movie adaptation of King Solomon's Mines and also appeared in a short film called Benjamin's Struggle (2005) a pamphlet on the Holocaust as well as in the British TV show Waking the Dead (in a two-part episode named. Doody appeared as a character in Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. Later, she guest-starred in RTE's medical thriller The Clinic. She was supposed to be the star of the remake of the horror movie The Asphyx. However, this project fell through. In 2011, she started the first of two seasons on the E4 comedy show Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. She also appeared on the show in 2014 as We Still Kill the Old Way.
